DRUM & BASS VS GHOSTWRITING

When writing credits go astray and collaborations become little white lies – this panel will discuss the perils of ghostwriting and samplepack use and how it can be negative for the whole genre. There have been incredible success stories and partnerships between artists in drum & bass and the genre has a longstanding history of artists working with engineers to produce some of it’s most iconic tracks, with both people bringing their own skills to the production, it was the perfect union of art and science. But recently there’s been a changing shift in this attitude and there are many rumours of a-list names taking credit for other people’s work and music sounding identical due to producers using sample packs. We aim to find out what has changed over the years and if there is any space for ghostwriting in 2017.
